Matching Gift Donation

What is a matching gift?

A matching gift is literally a gift made by a corporation in response to a gift made by one of its employees.

Many employers will match the charitable donations of current and retired employees as well as their spouses.  Some companies will match your gift, and some companies will double or even triple match your gift!  It is an easy way for you to increase your support of the important programs and services of the American Red Cross.

What types of gifts are eligible for match by an employer?
All companies have certain rules regarding their matching gifts, such as a minimum and maximum amount they will match, and what restricted gifts they will or will not match.  Typically, gifts that have received a benefit or good and/or service in exchange for the contribution are not eligible for a match.  Refer to your employer's matching gift form for details.

How do I make a matching gift?
First, check to see if your employer is listed......If you have identified your company from the list, then contact your Human Resources or Personnel office and obtain your employer's matching gift form.

Read your employer's guidelines on eligible gifts and the parameters, complete the form, sign it and mail it to the GNSV American Red Cross 28 Concord St., Nashua, NH 03064 with your gift.  We will document receipt of your gift, complete the matching gift form, and mail it back to your employer.  Your employer will then verify the gift details and information, and upon successful completion, send us the matching gift payment.
