The Youth Initiative
of the NH Gateway Chapter

The Youth Initiative is a group of young adults that meets once a week to discuss the needs of the community and brainstorm ideas as to how they can help. The group gives its members the opportunity to become leaders through services projects that will benefit both their Red Cross chapter and the community. The Youth Initiative of the NH Gateway Chapter gives teens the opportunity to lead, improve lives and learn new skills.
Current Youth Initiative Projects
Saying Thanks to Military Youth and Families
On Saturday, September 20th at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, the Youth Initiative participated in the Hero Pack project, one of the many projects developed by Operation Military Kids to support military youth and their families. The Hero Pack project involved filling backpacks with mementos and items designed to connect kids with their deployed family member. Hero Packs are designed to say thanks to military youth and families, offer supportive information, and provide items to aid in family connection and fun. Items that were donated on Saturday include: stickers, stuffed animals, children’s books, stationary and pens. The group also wrote letters of appreciation to the kids, thanking them for theirs and their parents' sacrifices. These letters will also be put into eac Hero Pack.
